This Central London luxury garden design was developed in collaboration with www.akarana.ltd
The design brief was to increase usable space with a focus on privacy all year round, to build areas for morning and afternoon sun with a child friendly design and planting (no poisonous trees, no sharp drops, no thorns).
We needed to ensure the design sympathetically connected the patio to the lower ground floor of the home and incorporate waterproof and vermin proof outside storage and individual dimmable garden lighting zones.
This was a challenging project as this a small, tiered north facing garden. We needed to dig some of the garden out to create a patio on the same level as the lower ground floor but keep the height at the back to get sunshine in the summer.
We developed a design that achieves these goals and softens the severe height change.
Planning permission was granted in June 2023
