Manchester City Council and Far East Consortium (FEC) are working together to regenerate a large area running north of Manchester city centre along the River Irk Valley. Known as Victoria North, it is the largest renewal project Manchester has ever seen. The Collyhurst community is at the heart of this exciting project.
In early 2020, consultation started on the first phase of the regeneration activity including a development of new homes and a community park in Collyhurst Village and a smaller development of new homes in South Collyhurst. These developments received planning approval in 2021 and so the regeneration of Collyhurst is now getting underway.
Square Yard have been appointed to develop detailed landscape designs for both the park and housing areas and to provide options for the design of Collyhurst Community Park including play area. This is part of the Phase 1 Northern Gateway project with further phases to follow.
